Hi, I'm Linh Nguyen, a Vietnam-based designer who enjoys drawing and approaches problems with logic and structured thinking. I'm a committed and self-driven person who takes initiative to learn and grow, while staying mindful of how people experience and interact with design. Inspired by anime from young age, I developed a passion for creativity and visual storytelling that continues to shape the way I think and create.

Before building this portfolio, I spent two years working as a full-time graphic designer. Over time, I found myself reflecting deeply on my creative growth and future direction. I realized I needed time to pause and reconnect with my goals. Taking a gap year gave me the opportunity to rebuild confidence, explore new interests, and gain a clearer understanding of the designer I want to become.

Eventually, I decided to leave my job and return to my hometown, where I supported my family while reflecting on my next steps. During this time, I continued learning independently, exploring creative paths, and researching the direction I wanted to pursue.

By chance, I came across an advertisement for the Google UX Design course on Coursera through Instagram. Curious about the field, I enrolled and studied from July to September, which became a turning point in my career.

I then continued strengthening my foundation through a four-month UX Fundermentals course at The Design Council in Vietnam, where I developed a mobile app project called Alerna App, while also teaching myself UI design through Youtube based on my graphic design background. Altogether, I spent around six months building essential UX knowledge through both theory and hands-on practice, futher expanding my understanding through researching materials, books and documents like "Universal Principles of UX", which helped me grasp how UX works - from defining problems to empathizing with users and crafting meaningful solutions.

What made me truly fall in love with UX UI design is the realization that it allows me to create real products that can genuinely help people in their everyday lives. UX challenges me to analyze problems, understand users, and think logically, while UI allows me to be creative and expressive. UI design is not just about visuals — it follows design laws and principles, which lets me balance structure and creativity. By combining research, empathy, usability principles, and visual creativity, I aim to create products that are not only useful, but also enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

As I moved into UX/UI, I wanted to turn my designs into real, working products, which led me to explore and self-study front-end development. Through bringing ideas to life with code, I discovered a genuine interest in coding and built this portfolio on my own. Despite the challenges, I'm confident in my path and committed to growing as a designer who understands UX, visual design, and code while continuously learning and improving.
